Colofac generic Mebeverine

Colofac is an antispasmodic medication (intestinal spasms, cramps, bloating and flatulence). Colofac tablets contain the active ingredient Mebeverine hydrochloride (antispasmodic). This helps relax the muscles of the intestines, relieves painful muscle spasms of the intestine. Colofac is used to relieve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome: colicky abdominal pain and cramps, diarrhea, constipation and flatulence (wind). Mebeverine hydrochloride rapidly and completely soaked up after intake. Also Colofac contains lactose, starch (potato or maize), povidone, purified talc, magnesium stearate, sucrose, gelatin, acacia and carnauba wax.

Generic Colofac is also called Mebeverine

It is manufactured in tablets 135 mg (white, round tablets). Colofac should be taken three times a day, about half an hour before meals. Drug action begins within 2 hours. After the course of several weeks, the dose is gradually reduced. It is not recommended to exceed dose, but overdose risk is small.
